'I lost my eye to skin cancer because cheap holiday sunglasses gave me no protection'

"A mum lost her right eye to skin cancer because she wore cheap sunglasses that gave her no protection, writes Pamela Owen in the Sunday People.

Deborah Kane, 44, had the organ removed in a life-saving op to stop the disease spreading to her brain.

And Deborah, told by her consultant that using budget shades on holidays led to her contracting the cancer,warned the public to avoid them.

She said: “Buying cheap sunglasses cost me my eye. I want others to know the dangers.” "

Takut baca . Selalu ada beli kalau nampak yang agak2 trendy sikit . Kat Malaysia ni memang banyak sangat . Yang claim ade UV protection tu memang hampir semua la . Tapi memang tak boleh percaya pon . Beli sekadar nak bergaya. 

Tapi lepas baca cerita nk, saya rasa saya nak buang semua cheap shades yg ade dkt rumah ni . They say wearing them is worse than not wearing anything ! 

If your sunglasses offer No UV protection ,you increase your exposure to UV rays . The cheap sunglasses block some of the light , causing your iris to open to allow more light in. This lets in more of the IV light as well . Increasing the damage UV light can cause to the retina .
